Wage 50 USD, building free, electricity btw 1-4cents, short term loan 0-1%, incentives,... Why invest in US? Does it matter if US isn't no:1? Yes, it does. War, super power, being first, privileges,... being no:1 is what gives US the power.

knowledge@Wharton..."The Chinese economy is overheating and may not be able to hold its currency stable against the dollar much longer. If China can slow its economic growth gradually from 11% to 7%, it would be "a minor miracle." An abrupt slowdown would shock global financial markets."
There may be the liquidity in china, but again, that needs to be rounded up against international currency trends..both consumer price inflation and asset price inflation needs adjustments for sustainable long term values.. this is an intersting article !!

Number 1 What?
Number 1 Polluter?
Number 1 Military power?
...
Oh! I see...Number 1 Economy?
What good will that be to the Human race, if we don't have a planet to sustain us?
...Number 1 in making Humanity think in terms of "the next 1 billion year"....Ye! that's better, I like that!

"Does It Matter If the U.S. Isn't No. 1?"
Did it matter to the Yankees? Chant "Go Sox!" to a Yankee-fan and run for cover.
Having worked with competitive athletes, I can assure you that once you've been at the front of the pack, it hurts beyond belief to take the fall to No. 2.
Picture this: your life if the U.S. falls back to No. 2--or 3.
If that isn't enough to get you to innovate--to change your mind and your behaviors about business and how you do business--then what's it going to take to keep you in the game?
Ski guru Weems Westfeldt told me when I was frozen atop an icicled mogul the size of a volkswagen--"You stop, you rust. You rust, you die." Go U.S.A. (and Go Sox Go...oops)

China is an amazing place with an economy set to dominate world markets in the near future.
But if they don't conrtol its growth then it may well implode.

Watched "The Office" series on DVD this weekend. One of the best/funniest television shows EVER. In the bonus footage is a clip from The Golden Globe Awards when the show won for best comedy series. During his acceptance speech Ricky Gervais comments to the Hollywood audience:
"I'm not from these parts. From a little place called 'England'. We used to run the world before you."
Huge laughs.
First thought: how long until we say to _______ (China/India/?) the same thing about America?
