"Take away that pudding—it has no theme!"—Churchill
May all of our puddings & projects have Technicolor themes in 2005!* (*Or why get out of bed?)
"If I had any epitaph that I would rather have more than any other, it would be to say that I had disturbed the sleep of my generation."—Adlai Stevenson
May all of our projects disturb the sleep of the establishment in 2005!* (*Or why get out of bed?)
"In classical times when Cicero had finished speaking, the people said, 'How well he spoke,' but when Demosthenes had finished speaking, they said, 'Let us march.'"—Adlai Stevenson
I vow that I will try my damnedest to be Demosthenes in 2005!* (*Or why get out of bed?)

And when Donald Rumsfeld was finished - the U.S. military was rebuilt, free were 100 million from tyranny, al Qaeda decimated to rat hole status, 2 wars suddenly won, a 21st century peace keeping force created, 30,000 Army troops added to avoid a draft, impotence of bin Laden revealed [3/4 of like ilk dead/imprisoned], no terror strikes in the USA. Naturally though, scurrilous european girlie-men, anti-USA voices are heard.

My son has just returned from six months in Afghanistan (army officer - infantry). Two of his friends are in Iraq. All are British (= European). C'mon Sean don't tar everyone with the same brush. Some of us stand up for the USA.

Tom, the Churchill quote is not just another one. I think that is a main subject of current marketing work.
Modern infant psychology has stated that human experience from the very beginning is coded in the shape of scenes. Those scenes provide meaning to life as they become guides for the future.
This means human experience shares a theatrical mode of self coding, that it organizes experience around plots and stories.
This is a considerable change in the way marketers see their approaches to clients.
