Sharon Whiteley is the CEO of ThirdAge, a Boston-based online content, marketing, and research company focused exclusively on serving the needs of Baby Boomers and midlife adults. Speaking about her book, she said, "We started from the vantage point of the investor, but [The Old Girls' Network] soon morphed itself into a book for entrepreneurs—or anybody else for that matter—that had the dream of wanting to create an enterprise, regardless of whether it was a solo-shop or a venture-backed opportunity." Interesting book idea - by any name.

As a baby boomer (52) myself I can't wait to read the book!
At my grand age ...I have never felt more energetic and enthusiastic about REALLY making a difference.
There is clearly something about middle age that brings out our real potential - It's a shame so many people seem to think it is too late to do anything that makes a difference - the good news is that Tom keeps rattling the cage and we all have a chance to do something personally!
Very interesting title The Old Girls Network - I like it.
I am convinced Tom has got something with this women thing.
I believe men actually have much to offer BUT only men who can open their eyes to the changing environment and then adapt.

"Old Girls" - some women aren't going to like that - kind of a sterotype for older women that is passe since the last century.

Cathy,
Thanks so much for this entry. What an awesome interview! I loved the "not aging gracefully" part. :-) I've bookmarked the site. Booomer women are my target market and I found this interview particularly helpful. The book will go on my "must read" list. (I got a kick out of the title!)
