Friday Edition
We've added a feature to tompeters.com, a slide show called "A Day in the Life," title shamelessly stolen from The Beatles. But they certainly stole it from someone else, no?
Take a look—see Tom progress through a typical day—in pictures.
I wish I could come up with something clever from the lyrics to finish off with, but I'll leave that up to you in the comments.

Extraordinaire! We know almost everyday about "the travelin´ man all over the world" but the pictures help to imagine those meetings in a much better way.
It´s the man who we can see in the pictures.
Thank you Cathy.

mea culpa.. !! My inquestive nature, caught the pictures before Cathy did this posting.. heh !!
I think Tom's epxressions are great, very intense and at times one can read the 'passion' residing within.. just by the expression only !!
Kewl Pic's Tom --& the subtitles are gr8 too !

Just to remember another "Day in the life" that changed the World!
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich
Alexander Solzhenitsyn
Remember, just one day in the life of Ivan Denisovich Shukhov, spent in a stalinist prison camp in 1951. One among the 3,653 days there!

From the perspective of a woman married to a photographer - the photos are great! I like the compositions very much. I only wished I could click and enlarge. The pics showed as very tiny thumbnails on my screen.
You know what would really be cool? A short video montage. I know. I don't ask for much, do I? :-)

M.R.M. I asked Cathy about this. Hope we can fix.

I'm thrilled that you all love the slides. Thanks for the Beatles bit, Rick. Good one!
I'm sorry, Ms Maguire, that you are having a problem, and emails are flying back and forth among people who may fix it.

I like the idea of the pictures - and the Beatles!!
I only missed photos from the audience (to feel the moment, and the reaction of the people and the impact).
You know what will be really cool?? A Tom´s life day with Metallica lyrics!! Awesome!

Where are all the pictures of great females?

To the lady who wanted to see video of Tom - simple! Click on 'Book Tom' on this website and you go through to his entry on the Washington Speakers Bureau site and there are several!
I thought the Day in the Life was great, I heard Tom in Atlanta a few years ago (life-changing stuff) and this brought it all back! I just wondered if we could have a bit more on the rest of the day, i.e. after the event.
Finally, I loved the early shots - it's gratifying to see Tom's space gets as messy as mine when preparing to present!

Very cool feature.
Two things struck me:
-- The great gestures Tom uses when he speaks.
-- Tom is much older than I had thought. Reading his stuff, I always assumed he was a youngish guy, and I saw in the pictures that he's an older man.
I've never met an older man with as much amazing energy and enthusiasm.

Credits for A Day in the Life go to Allison Sherriffs, who took the photos, and Phoebe Espiritu, who programmed the slide show. I appreciate that you seem to think I did it, but, no, I don't have the talent/expertise of these two.
Posted by cathy at February 21, 2005 10:56 AM
Equal talent, Cathy. Different talent.
