And experience has made each of these guys (possibly excepting Kevin Brown) pitchers, not just throwers.
Which speaks to marketing in a way. Intelligence and keeping the competition off-balance (read change up, curve ball away) often trumps raw power.

Pedro embraces Mets, bashes Red Sox. Mientkiewicz is a Met. D-Lowe sees green from Dodger blue. Reese goes west to Seattle. Mike Myers Cardinals Relief pitcher. Cabrera headed to Angels. Roberts sent to San Diego. Giant step for Gabe: Kapler goes to Japan. Kim likely to be traded.
Anyone want to buy my 2004 Red Sox playing card collection?

Yes, George went bonkers. But he overpaid Wright, as I doubt he can recreate last year's successful season away from Leo Mazzone. George is known for going bonkers, and just like the huge corporations that merge, he doesn't often achieve the ultimate success. He's expected to go bonkers. But they'll still lose.
This of course coming from a diehard Braves fan. The beast from the east is back, with one of the best rotations on a budget in a long time.
Before blogging became all the rage, Tom was posting book reviews and Observations (essentially early blog posts) to this site. You can find the archives below.

A-Rod and Derek Jeter must have big years to make it all happen.
