Sunday Edition
Odeo is the new company that Blogger founder Evan Williams (aka Ev and Evhead) is launching to put Podcasting up front and center stage. This is an important new development in the social media market.
Check out Dave Winer's coverage of the event on Scripting, and his link to the story in today's New York Times. Dave and Adam Curry are the pioneers of this new medium, and they are glad to see another early blogger jump right in. Ev announced his new enterprise at the TED conference today in Monterey.

Halley: FYI infonuggut --Ben Hammersley actually conined the term Podcasting. Yes, 'Evhead' has been on the road after he left google last oct. We all were following his trail- as he was, afterall the coder/founder of pyra labs and blogger.com and was wondering what will be his next gig . and Odeo aims to enable this new distribution channel and medium by creating the best one-source solution for finding, subscribing to, and publishing audio content.
The blogswarm is all about the 'long trail' !! I luv that foo.. :)-
Oh BTW.. I have been bugging TP.com to Podcast !!So when will -- TP.Com start a -"Morning rants of TP"?? I'll take a feed..

Yesterday you hated the iPod, today you like it;)
Listening to podcasts is interesting.
I just hope that they figure out a good way to sort through the dross and find the gold more easily.

I purchased a Dell DJ (competitor to the ipod) earlier this month and joined an user's forum to learn how to best leverage the technology. There are multiple threads I have found like how to record a podcast, download a podcast to the DJ, etc.; so I think that the medium will be a winner with a wide group of people!
