Tuesday Edition
We had a great conversation with Kirsten Osolind of the company/website re:invention, inc., recently. Her blog is in our blogroll, but we didn't know her beyond that 'til now. In her own words:

The blog contains an exhaustive list of partner and business resources, valuable partner discounts, women's quotes, polls, marketing tips, and breaking news.
Each Saturday, re:invention presents 10 Tips for 10 Million Women
TM , featuring a woman entrepreneur and her personal 10 tips for success. It's a powerful example of "women helping women win."Our goal: a smartly-stocked toolbox for women entrepreneurs with practical business and marketing ideas you can use today to turn your million-dollar dream into profitable reality. I go to re:invention to see the shoes (I don't wear heels, so it's strictly a window-shopping exercise for me, but fun!), then I invariably stay to read Kirsten's commentary. So, women readers, take a look, see what you think.
Before blogging became all the rage, Tom was posting book reviews and Observations (essentially early blog posts) to this site. You can find the archives below.

Kirsten is an inspiration. We need more professional women like her-- I recommend her blog on a routine basis, to women and men. Kirsten knows the women's market-- and she is familiar with the stumbling blocks we trip over all the time and offers numerous valuable options for help, on her blog, at her website, and through her work.

Yvonne,
It was an email from you to tp.com that first alerted me to Kirsten's blog, and to other women who blog. They're rare. Right now, about 12 percent of the entries on our blogroll are women's blogs. I know I'm not an enthusiastic blogger, so it doesn't surprise me, but I wonder what the explanation is. Though, if I trolled cooking/craft/gardening blogs, I'd bet the percentage of women vs. men would be reversed, or at least more even.

Kristen's is one of my favorite blogs - in fact, I have her RSS feed on my browser's start page right next to Tom's. Her posts are consistently smart, feisty and empowering, and her commitment to women entrepreneurs is an inspiration... at this point, I can still only aspire to her sophisticated taste in shoes, but with a new shoe each week, I'm learning all the time. :-)
