Friday Edition
Dan Pink, whom we all know as the author of Free Agent Nation has written a new book called A Whole New Mind: Moving from the Information Age to the Conceptual Age, about the six essential abilities that white-collar workers must master to survive in an outsourced, automated world. He talks to tp.com about the new book in his second Cool Friend interview. Dan's a contributing editor at Wired, and he has written articles on business and technology for the New York Times, Harvard Business Review, Fast Company and other publications. He has a new website, too, www.danpink.com.

Fabulous new book, Dan - and 2nd Cool interview - I gave multiple copies to family in the ecological home building business - they consider themselves artists for the affluent home owner / environmentalist.

And still no RSS feed, wonder how many potential readers he's lost through that?

I just finished reading this book and since I am in the High Tech end of our industry and deal with Asia, Abundance and Automation, I believe all that you said about the information age transforming into the conceptual age - and it also occurred to me that Ophra has prepared the country - mainly women - to become the managers of the future...she presented the tools for all people to develop their journey of Design, Story, Symphony, Empathy, Play and Meaning. There is so much common sense in your book. I loved this book. I intend to give it to many people as a gift. The next couple of decades in our society will be amazing times - There are so many of us who started our personal journeys so many years ago and we have developed those skills through personal experience and I know that we are poised to teach the new generations as they evolve into the conceptual age. While reading this book, I started creating a multitude of ideas about business and can't wait to put them into effect. Thanks for a great book.

We loved the book! The people who thought that finance professionals did not need to be creative should read this book and think again! Thank you Dan.
