Thursday Edition
Newsweek is appropriately getting the beating of a lifetime. But click here and go read reliable Andrew Sullivan. Others have reported on similar happenings for months.
Before blogging became all the rage, Tom was posting book reviews and Observations (essentially early blog posts) to this site. You can find the archives below.

Andrew Sullivan's post on the New York Times (the one underneath the Bush one) charging for its op-ed content online seems reasonable to me. Most people won't pay $50 for the privilege of accessing it. I know I won't. Being elitist is going to be a poor compensation for being on the sidelines.

When will we get behind the war on terror and quit helping the terrorists?
Everyday there are prisoners everywhere that in one way or another, report their distortions of reality. They were all victimized in one way or the other. Their aim is to get justice for their perceived injustices or concocted injustices. Often they stir up the pot further by getting other prisoners to mouth a similar theme in making their own complaints. The concept...if it is repeated often enough and by fellow complaintants and sympathizers, will lead to the enlistment of others and then they will pick up and drum to the beat. The Newsweek article is a testimony to that misdeed.

Thought you might like to look at an example from the BBC of what online reporting is starting to look like. Not only do we get to read the article, we also get to immediately post our views on it since it comes with its own blog.
New York Times take heed!

"reliable Andrew Sullivan" . . . huh?
Exitable, maybe . . . and sometimes it overwhelms his semi natural, normal good sense
