Time Out

Tom's 95.8 year old Mom is/has been under the weather. He's commuting almost daily between Vermont, Boston, and D.C./Annapolis. (If all goes better—well, he says, is too much to ask—he'll be on his way to Lagos & Port Harcourt, Nigeria, next Monday—as the "fall season" for business advice begins.) (Tom also declared himself pleased with his Career Education Corporation speech last week—that seldom happens—and he urges you to download the PowerPoint Deck; comments welcome.)

Cathy Mosca posted this on 08/23/05.

Tom: Best of luck with your mom. Had a similar experience a few years back with my dad. Thoughts are with you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Tom.

"...Compassion is not the same as pity. With compassion, while we are aware of what another is going through, we also honor that other and their path. We are there not to rescue, but rather to understand and to love. Instead of joining the other in his or her pain, we absorb the pain into ourselves and return peace, joy, and love..."

Our prayers are with your Mom. My dad's 92...i think i have an idea what it's like...Oh and let me be the first to say, Welcome Tom! this is from me and my pack of rabid TP fans down here in Nigeria. no fear Tom, you 'disturbed the sleep' of a lot of us down in the much maligned ;third world'.its now left to us to 'infect' the rest of our generation. we expect no less than a Cirque du Soliel experience Tom! and it's heartwarming to know that you'll give us no less. Greetings!

The best of luck and prayers for good health to Mrs. Peters.

Mr. & Mrs. O'Leary--what a wonderful quote. I'm going to have to look up that book.

Dear Tom
You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts. My dad is 93 and just recently has begun a decline in health. Cherish this time throught your worry and concern. The cirle of life is difficult to accept when it is staring us in the face. God Bless

How would Tom feel about recording the audio from his presentations? There are mp3 audio recorders that could encode on the fly. It would be a great addition at minimal cost.

Dear Tom: What an incredible woman your mother must be to have produced such an inquisitive child. I am sure that you must have asked her a million questions growing up. Thank goodness you had her around for 95 years. She must be so proud of you and your wonderful ability to project the power of women in the world today as well as your amazing magical presence which is so appreciated in so many lives today. I will keep her in my prayers and you and your family in these sad moments. It is so hard to say goodbye to those we love. God Bless you. Suzanne
