Friday Edition
Taking part in Leaders in Sydney tomorrow. Another participant is Anita Roddick. Quite simply, I think she is one of the most remarkable human beings, women, entrepreneurs in the world. Among other things, who else has offered such a dramatic and sustaining example of the possibility of business as a force for goodness & virtue? I had the chance to chat with her last night—and it stripped away, in seconds, my accumulated exhaustion. (Lucky me.)

Anita Roddick was one of the people I wrote about in my leadership dissertation ten years ago after reading Body and Soul - what an amazing person. I love how she said in the book she had yet to be inspired by any business man. I also love the story of her going to the Bank Manager in the beginning - with her baby in her arms and passion in her head - to borrow 500 pounds for her business ideas. She was turned down flat. She went back with her husband and a business plan and got the money. My kinda gal! – I would love to meet her!

She's helped challenge my assumption that business is always about profits over people... and helped me realize that another way is possible.
Bravo!

I always use Anita roddick as one concrete example of a spiritual marketer. She is a complete entrepreneur, equipped with MindWare (IQ), HeartWare (EQ), and SoulWare (SQ).
Today's wicky-wacky marketing landscape surely needs more people with creative imagination like her.
