Wednesday Edition
Some Firefox folks have broken off to develop their own browser called Flock. It's still in a pre-beta version and as they say, 'not for the faint of heart.' But keep an eye out for this launch. It's a browser that incorporates a lot of your everyday tasks on the computer. This is gonna' be cool.
Before blogging became all the rage, Tom was posting book reviews and Observations (essentially early blog posts) to this site. You can find the archives below.

Flock is Firefox/Mozilla-based. Probably the most comprehensive review/article on Flock is from Paul Stamatiou: http://tinyurl.com/ex22f

This is where free open source software (FOSS) really wins. You can take existing software and make it do what you want it to do without having to reinvent the wheel.
People are doing lots of other things with Firefox too. Someone has made a version that runs straight from a usb memory stick. Someone has done a processor-optimized version that will run faster.
The whole thing is evolutionary. Don't like what Firefox does? Change it. If people like yours better, they'll adopt it.
PS I probably know more about Firefox than I should, and should spend more time outside.

Flock's a bad movie script for a great story. Don't believe the hype.

Flock is cool as a concept for making browsing interactive and collaborative. Along those same lines, keep your eyes on http://www.tablane.com
