Tom comes in at #4 in the latest Thinkers 50 ranking. Produced by the folks at Suntop Media in conjunction with the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), it is the definitive bi-annual guide to which thinkers and ideas are in. Read the full story in today's London Times.

Mostly, I find it amusing, and somewhat fatuous. On the other hand, better to be on the list than not on the list.

Hey, I'm on a lot of people's lists. Must mean I'm pretty popular, I guess...

Without getting to far into ass-kissing territory...
Personally, I favor 'do-ers' to thinkers... and for fifteen-or-so years there's barely a day gone by when I've not found something useful from Peters - almost continuously challenging stale assumptions and encouraging me to look at things from another angle, or supporting a view I already had but lacked the courage to fully own.
Interesting to see Bennis (People who cannot invent and reinvent themselves must be content with borrowed postures, secondhand ideas, fitting in instead of standing out.) way-too-far down the list.
Clearly the judges had an off day.

Solution and justice seekers united - Bill Gates invented the new Bill by stepping into a creatives' role - and becoming a mega philanthropist - a solution and just new remedy to meet international challenge.

Bill Gates only really had one big idea, but maybe thats all you need. Too much creative thinking will muddle you up

should we be surprized that the outfit that published the "Thinkers" list counts Tom Peters Group as one of its largest clients (look under "clients" tab on suntop media site). ...gosh, maybe TP is Suntop's 4th largest client... now that would be something to dispatch

Scott Adams ("Dilbert") at #12 tells us not to take all this too seriously. Expect Dilbert's pointy-haired boss to discover that he is #51!

John, this is important: I may be wrong but I don't think Suntop is a "vendor" to Tom Peters Group at all. It's true that about 10 years ago they did a few stories for our newsletter, now shut down, but I think that was it. (I'l check.)

Tom Peters belongs on this list, and close to the top. It is though very disturbing that there are so few women on this list.
There are so many great women thinkers. Good to know that Tom gets this fact though!

Surprised to see Richard Branson at number 11. Some voters must have thought it was a personality contest. Also, how can women be better represented if the 2007 list only has 3?
