I figure that any generation that survives is more or less "great," given the rampant madness in the world at any point in time.

Note WSC's right and FDR's left knees--burnished from kids (or adults) sitting for photos.

Good to know you are enjoyng the sights of the worlds greatest City Tom :-)
Great to see Sir Winston still rocking!! He was - not surprisingly recently voted the greatest Englishman of the 20th Century
Annie and I were listening recently to a story of Winston Churchill who re-visited his school as a grand old man to give an address. The expectant young students were looking forward to one of Winston’s great speeches. The entire school gathered in keen anticipation. Churchill entered the packed school auditorium and said;
“Never give up …. “Never give up …..Never give up.â€
That was Churchill's speech. wonderful!

I KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DISCUSSIN'
Churchill tells Franklin: I like pigs because dogs look up to us, cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals!
Franklin replies: He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.
