I Love It

One of my pet peeves is the "dumbed down" conversation. I've heard too many of them lately. In contrast, the comments on my last two posts are rich, interesting and thoughtful. Thank you.

I wrote those posts at O'Hare Airport Friday evening, just before boarding an overnight flight. After a stop in Frankfurt with friends, I arrived in Jerusalem before dawn yesterday (Sunday) and spent the day relaxing away from the online world. I just flipped open my computer at my favorite Jerusalem coffee shop, Tmol Shilshom, which is in an old, funky building in the center of town. Central Jerusalem has free wireless access, so I was able to check in for the first time in a few days.

What a pleasure to come back from a few days of "head clearing" and read those comments. I love it when people think and engage in good debate and conversation. Let's keep doing it!

Seems amazing the activity level of some discussion sites - Blogworld select sites are being sold for $10 million at times.

Pleased to see that more and more finance is being cut off for Hamas "governance" heads up - take care while over there.

Totally agree Steve

This is an issue I face on an almost daily basis - in a very busy "must do this now" environment I sometimes look at the quality of thinking in companies with dispair! I am not talking heavy duty conceptial stuff here - I am talking about basics e.g. people talking about Values when what they are actually refering to is goals or outcomes

Words like strategy and vision banded around without any clear idea what is being discussed

I will stop ranting now!!!

Like you Steve I sometimes come to this wonderful haven for a positive boost!

Cutting off Hamas just further demonstrates the duplicity and short-sightedness of those inside the beltway.

Democracy for some and not for all. Not a smart way to win hearts and minds.

Ooh ... I didn't even think about politics when I wrote this. I was just enjoying this wonderful/beautiful/crowded/
inspiring/frustrating/intense/contemplative-but-noisy/amazing city that I love so much. What an interesting conundrum ... I'm praising us for great debate and finding myself tempted to ask us to stay apolitical. Oh well. Let's let the discussion take it's course, and I'll just hope it focuses on the subject of intellectual vs. simplistic conversation. Interesting, to say the least!
