Wednesday Edition
As I thought about Warren I thought about my own battles against the Forces of Convention. Hence the attachment (in shorthand) listing a few of my Causes—and enemies thereto.
Before blogging became all the rage, Tom was posting book reviews and Observations (essentially early blog posts) to this site. You can find the archives below.
What we're talking about

"Women/Leaders (Right for the times)" Keep on saying it, because "they" are not getting it after all of these years (30 years in my case).

I love the shorthand. I might adopt that.
Also, it makes me wonder what it would be like to attend a brainstorming session with you Tom. Stream of consciousness information overload? (I mean that as a compliment)
I imagine it's electric.

I like this approach - thank you for the tip.
My causes
*Front line staff know all the answers all the time
*Give all the money - yes all the money - to front line staff
*If managers have a job at all in 2006 it is to make the job of front line staff easier
*There is no such thing as an overnight success
*Always do your homework
*Meetings are work
*The basics are the new cutting edge
Enemies thereto
*Creating science and rationality about simple stuff
*Professional speak - guaranteed protection
*Beating passion out of staff by complexity
*'Thats just the way it is around here'
*'We tried that before and it didn't work'
*'We mustn't put ourselves in a position where we might be criticised'
*'I'm sorry I will have to ask my boss'
