Wednesday Edition
This, from Enron juror Freddy Delgado, an elementary school principal: "I can't say that I don't know what my teachers were doing in the classroom. I am still responsible if a child gets lost."
Sounds like the jury-of-one's-peers system, even in a complex corporate trial, is alive and well. Thanks, Principal Delgado, for your service to our country—I envy the parents and students in your school!

Tom - Gets right to the point, doesn't it! I can't wait to see that quote added to your regular repertoire!

Delgado Delnado - most USA public schools have lightyears of need to improve - he's riding herd on more classroom drop-out failures at Houston's Golfcrest Elementary than successes perhaps due to his fast Freddy "leadership" style.

In the current SarBox spirt I suggest we make Freddie tie GPS wrist bands on all students and have him certify each night none were untracked. And then conduct frequent audits of his records.

Well said!

Gosh, does that put it all in perspective. Reminds me of the saying "the fish stinks from the head down". Glad the jurors had that in mind.

Sean, cut the guy a little slack. And I thought my cynicism reached the moon! (Though I do agree in general about the sorry state of our schools--and the former Ed Secretary's Houston "grade inflation" that marked his CV.)

Tom - I follow you - but Mr. Delgado may one day be judged too - so his quote lives on to snap him in the backside perhaps!
