2 handsome guys! Thanks for sharing the photo Tom. This is one to treasure, to be sure. Both of you definitely cut through the BS and give us the straight dope!

Hey Trevor - what a fabulous work / life balance you've struck: you go to Tom Peters and Eagles gigs in the same month!

Posted by MarkJF at May 29, 2006 10:02 PM

Congratulations Trevor, I am sure you had a great time with Tom. Nice photo, worth keeping.

In the last 15 years I have written many thousands of words about leadership and indeed my Healthcare Management MA dissertation was about leadership. From all my reading, all my research and my personal practical experience, one quality the extraordinary leader has is an awareness of how important the ‘small stuff’ is.

Of course it is important to keep your eye the ‘big picture’ but in my opinion paying attention to the ‘small stuff’ is equally important and it is this that marks out a truly outstanding leader. As an illustration, Tom found (in a very high energy, high profile, stressful day and hugely important day for him) a few minutes to make me feel very special. I am honoured and this is a special photograph I will treasure

Thank you Tom for ‘walking your talk’ and ‘sweating the small stuff.’

We all know that aspiring leaders could usefully take lessons from your words. More important they could learn from observing your actions. You are an extraordinary leader.

Corrrrrr!!!!!! I'm lucky enough to snuggle up to one of these guys every night :-)

Tom - and the Tom Peters network. Not only are Trevor and Annie wonderful contributors to the Tom Peters blog, they are the inspiration behind www.rattle-the-cage.com and superb mentors and friends to the world-wide rattle-the-cage community. Great to see you two guys together - and, Annie, I'm still trying to figure out which one of the two you are snuggling up with (just kidding, I know it's the one with rosy English cheeks!)

am i the only one feeling nausiated?

Posted by twothumbsjack at May 30, 2006 2:46 AM

How awesome to see two of my idols in the same frame!

Posted by Troy Worman at May 30, 2006 2:59 AM

Trevor - how come you are ten years younger and yet Tom LOOKS younger than you? Time for the UK hair club?

Must be TPs mom's genes - and now perhaps Annie's liaison with him - is that what I read above - outrageous you celeb types ... and your party hard ways ... :>}

Posted by Sean at May 30, 2006 3:24 AM

Twothumbsjack - the answer to your question is, "I don't know." But I'm pretty sure you're the only one whose rude enough to make such a comment; the only one with such appalling spelling and punctuation; and the only one who misses the point that some celebration and back-slapping is a valid part of team-building in any enterprise, bricks n' mortar or on-line.

As a matter of interest, what did you hope to achieve from the comment?

Posted by MarkJF at May 30, 2006 3:26 AM

MarkJF: Don't encourage that type by responding.

Trevor: Now that you are walking among the elite, please don't forget us little people who helped put you there! (Are you guys back on-line yet?)

Trevor: You two look like old friends! I expect to see this wonderful meeting captured, including photo, in the next edition of Simplicity. Proud of you mate for pushing ahead and getting noticed, you deserve it. Love to Annie.

Nice one Trevor. Perhaps twothumbs meant he was sick that it wasn't him in the photo. Me too.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks everyone for your positive feedback - much appreciated.

'twothumbsjack' is entitled to an opinion like the rest of us. Sorry if it makes you feel 'nausiated' - to be correct though actually it should be 'nauseated' - The Thesaurus tell me the following words also apply - feel free to use them as well:

*Disgusted
*Revolted

Have a nice week :-)

Tom, Trevor! So nice photo!
Hope to join you both sometime ;)

Sean, I'm bummed because I think Trevor looks 10 years younger than me. (Who cares about the real ages.) Moreover, those who are slightly "hair challenged" always look 10 years older than they are.

Posted by tom peters at May 30, 2006 8:26 AM

Trevor,

Bravo! As a new friend of yours I'm very happy for you and look forward to having my picture taken with you!

Posted by Matthew Scott at May 30, 2006 12:20 PM

Yes, kudos to both of you!

Tom for walking the talk and traveling to enable these kind of photos ops.

Trevor for your blogging/commenting consistency, it is well worth the photo op.

May there be many more!

Being hair challenged really does not matter. The world's leading expert in executive advancement, Dilbert's Scott Adams, describes the need for being tall and having executive hair as being the only criteria required. Trevor - he does allow elegantly bald in the executive hair category.

What is really depressing is that when you look at most CEOs his theory actually seems to hold water.......

Trevor and Paul - I wonder though if the total daily shave of the head is the answer - it totally works for Michael Jordan and others - time for it in the Exec Suite!?

Trevor - maybe try it out and post a photo on your site - it would be Simplicity Hair Redux perhaps?! Thanks for being such a good sport.

Trevor and Tom - What a great photo! Nice to see a physical connection to an online relationship! Can't resist the discourse on the hair - my barber is my Mach 3 razor. Seth Godin and I use the same comb.

Posted by walter white at May 31, 2006 3:53 AM

Just to add to the interesting debate about us folically challenged folks :-)

A true story that always makes me laugh. A few years ago when I played competitive soccer a team-mate after the game shouted across the dressing room as he emerged from the shower

“Have you got a comb Trevor?”

I replied “Yes”

His answerer was … ‘Why?’

Great banter – management and leadership can be fun too!

As regards Tom’s comment regarding age – my 77 year old Mum still thinks I am her little boy – My 25 year old daughter thinks I am an old wrinkly – I guess they are both right. We are only as old as we think we are.

Now where did I put those pills …..
