Sunday Edition
(1) Above, I used the word "Blog."
(2) I regularly and automatically receive, as all of us PC users presumably do, my Microsoft updates.
(3) When I wrote "Blog" I got the Red Line. ("Bog" and "Blob" were among suggested alternatives.)
(4) Does the continued failure to recognize "Blog" have anything to do with MS's continuing problems becoming "Web-centric," something the ancient Ray Ozzie once again says is a priority?
(Yes, I can imagine a hundred reasons why updates might not include my Word dictionary—but, still ...)

I don't think this is a bad thing at all.
"Blog" is a pejorative in my eyes.
I don't know what to call us "Bloggers", but is shouldn't be that.
It is a term used to undermine our importance.
Case in point, big media (CNN, NYT, etc) calling Matt Drudge a 'blogger'.
Puh-puh-please!

Spellchecker also misses xbox, webcam and webcast. But here's my favourite: if you forget to capitalise "microsoft", you get 2 alternatives: "Microsoft" or "microfossil." Does anyone have any thoughts about which of the alternatives I should plump for...!!!

The best spell checker item for me is Technorati which has its first alternate suggested spelling as "degenerate" and since I think Technorati is broken, this coincidence is most cool.
BTW - is there a setting that you can change to have the comments entered on the same page as opposed to this pop up window? It would help to allow CoComment to work. CoComment is a slick blogger tool to track comments that any one leaves here and there. You can check my blog to see how it works for me. Thanks! http://steves2cents.blogspot.com/
