Dear Miss Shelley Dolley:

Yes, internet change humanity in a lot of ways for better. We must celebrate it.

Nevertheless it is incredible that in the year 2006 after all this technology and developments there are people that:

1.- Don't have something to eat for today.
2.- Don't have electricity.
3.- Don't know nothing about telephones, celulars or the internet.

That is really really unbelievable.

Hopefully all of us can use internet to reduce poverty and create opportunities for everybody.

The World is connected, now we need to help a lot of people to get connected.

Best regards

Hi Juan
Thanks for commenting. I agree with your first point - I find current world hunger levels tragic. What's amazing to me is that despite the lack of traditional infrastructure, people are finding their way to the internet in developing countries. That's why I love this piece about mobile phone usage in the developing world:

People are more connected than we might assume, despite the lack of other necessities.
