May want to kill germs & bacteria though Tom with hot water washing - towels, bedding & the like ... white seems best.
Sherrie & me as radical minimalists have all white: bedding, towels, t-shirts, furniture slip covers, throw rugs, area rugs, dress shirts [Brooks Bros non-iron - warm water], golf shirts - everything cotton - easy to hot water sterile clean. Susan does this & we keep it secret ... given her color fame.
Rest is black/dark jeans, slacks, sports shorts, socks et al in cold - suits ... some to natural dry cleaners.

Great tip, Tom, thatnks for sharing. Ironic, however, that on that P&G page you link to they're announcing the launch of a new type of disposable diaper in India. Yes, the jury is still out over the relative environmental impacts of disposables and reusables, but many people think encouraging disposables in vast emerging markets could be a total environmental disaster. Example: http://news.independent.co.uk/environment/article363870.ece
And remember: in the debate about which has higher environmental impact, the disposable lobby has billions of dollars behiond it; the reusables almost none. That might skew the analysis...
