Tom - I'm with you. VPR/NPR piece last nite noted this DST nonsense will actually cost more than it saves. As the sun pours thru the windows this frigid Friday morning in VT we will miss the morning inspriation.

I'm with you on this Tom - I can't match your 4 am but I now get up every morning 6.15 am for early morning run. After the 30 minute run and shower raring to go by 7.30am - physically and mentally ready to do some interesting stuff.
I then recall my days in corporate 'prison' - as I call now call it. At 7.30 the alarm had just gone off and after a few expletives I eventually got up to drive to the office for 8.30 and by 9.00 I was just about awake searching for motivation.
Nowadays the peace and tranquility, the sound of the birds, and not much else, is a wonderful time to be alive. I find the physical exercise is easier to achieve at that time than later in the day and the mental stimulation follows. It sets me up perfectly for the day. Thanks for your wise words.
1. Tom - roger that - am a 10pm-4am sleeper & sneak it @ 3am sometimes ... loved it in Tucson [no daylight savings state] when I could do a radial run @ 4am 1st light - dogs talking & mocking my cool run style ...
Missing it before it's taken away... food for thought... many applications... we could get some pre-stalgia about polar bears... and many other things... the audio medium worked very well for this... thank you for the provocation... good job!
Before blogging became all the rage, Tom was posting book reviews and Observations (essentially early blog posts) to this site. You can find the archives below.

I'm already thinking pre-stalgia isn't what it used to be.
