Wednesday Edition

Today finds Tom in Utrecht, The Netherlands. He took these pictures on an afternoon walk upon his arrival there yesterday. It looks as if he's still enjoying lovely weather, while we're getting forecasts of more snow tonight in Boston.

The event of the day is a conference on The Future of Talent, and Tom has done a long and short version of his Talent50 for the occasion. You can download them here:

Tom, I'm interested in the issue of 'Talent" with clients in this space, so downloaded your presentation. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but a 180 slide presentation?? and that's the short one?
Secondly, the font size and colored backgrounds actually make it harder to read what you have to say. I read your blog, so I know that the content of what you have to say is valuable, but this is just making it hard. Or do you do this because the presentation is long and you want to keep people's attention?
I've never seen you present so maybe it works really well, but as a posting online it doesn't.
Not sure if you are aware of this blog, but I think you might enjoy it: www.beyondbullets.com; the writer is an expert in effective PowerPoint presentations.
Regards,
David

I just saw this quote and had to share it:
“Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.â€
– Colin L. Powell
I had to check the URL to see if was tompeters.com ;-)

"I've never seen you present so maybe it works really well."
It works really, really well--especially in a large auditorium. AV folks love it--which is my test. This is not a Web version, it's the real deal, that is all we post. 180 is about r4ight for 2.5 hours--as you see, there are but a few words per page.

Cathy / Tom - No comments at all on the piece in last weeks TIME Global Business spot on your former venture and Bluepoint? Just curious.

Hi Tom, thanks for the tiny interview in Utrecht. I notice you don't talk about personal branding too much anymore these days, while my company is very succesful with it in the Netherlands. Have you lost interest in the topic? It works good for us.
Kind regards, Huub
