Tuesday Edition
I found at a bookstore here Flip: How Counterintuitive Thinking Is Changing Everything—from branding and strategy to technology. On the front cover was an endorsing quote from one Warren Hart. It read like this: "EDWARD DE BONO MEETS TOM PETERS ... ESSENTIAL READING."
My question (and I eagerly await your answers) is: What the hell does that mean?
(FYI, neither De Bono's name nor mine is in the Index.)
(FYI, the book looks pretty good—I shall at least skim.)

With one of my six thinking hats on, I think it means that the amalgam that is "Edward De Bono and Tom Peters" is a metaphor for unorthodox, creative and lateral approaches to contempoary issues. Juxtaposing your names emphsises this fact, and creates a set of expectations on the part of a prospective reader, which I suggest would be very positive.

De Bono- guru of creative thinking + Peters - guru of creative business = Flip

Call me a bit simplistic but maybe there's another explanation. The publisher was desperate for some kind of strap line to get the attention of anyone browsing. He figured he wanted a couple of business / self-help figures and came up with Tom and Mr. de Bono, figuring a lot of folks will have heard of them both and the combination might trigger their interest.
Sometimes the obvious answer is the right answer...
