Wednesday Edition

Sorry! Belated posting of my PowerPoint for Mind Consulting in Bologna. The audience was "SMEs"—folks from small and medium-sized enterprises, lots of owners. Loved it! (SME execs, worldwide, take no crap. As I said, love it!) Susan and I came to Bologna after spending my birthday in Venice. We loved Bologna, especially Saint Stephano's church; but the pictures above and below are from our magical sojourn in Venice!

Dear Tom,
As I told you before your presentation, the speech you gave two years ago in Bologna was already very very useful for our customers. Many italian SME's used your concepts to re-invent themselves and become much more competitive.
Well, if that was good, the speech you gave us this year was MAGNIFICENT: look, I came to realize that not only you are a great and insightful management guru. Above all you are a person with a great heart. Every one attending came to love your human approach to the enterprise and to the people who are part of it.
Thank you very very much on behalf of all the customers of Mind Consulting. You gave us great tips but, above all, you touched our hearts.

Yes, thank you for everything! The speech was great, your smile and your words are in the heart of all of us!

I skimmed through 'fooled by randomness' the other day and became interested in the authors
point that seemingly intellegent discourses can
be put together by a computer that works off a set of phases and a grammar - but what it puts out is just random intellgent sounding nonsense.
So, it there a real Tom Peters or has he died and
left one of these computer programs that creates power point slides and most everthing else attributed to him on this site.

I have elected for a sea change this year but up til this point I always said I would not live more than 5 min away from where I could see a cow. I now have a cow picture that I look at fondly (until I can return to the rural clime). I enjoyed the image of the man in the boat. His vegetables look fresh and there appears a good array of choice. Often these men no longer 'need' to sell but they do it to keep alive and because they often enjoy the exchanges of custom. I believe we all basically long for a sense of the 'village' and this picture reminded me of that very much.
