OLD YEAR'S RESOLUTION!

Call (C-A-L-L!) (NOT E-MAIL!) 25-50 (NO LESS THAN 25) people ... TODAY* ... to thank them for their support this year (2007) ... and wish them and their families and colleagues a Happy 2008!** *** **** ***** ******

*Today = TODAY = N-O-W (not "within the hour")
**Remember: ROIR > ROI. ROIR = Return On Investment in Relationships. Success = ƒ(Relationships).
***This is the most important piece of advice I have provided this year.
****This is ... Not Optional.
*****Trust me: This is fun!!!!
******Trust me: This "works."

Happy 2008!!!

Tom -
Thanks for your advice and inspiration. Although it's still a little too early to start calling people on this beautiful, snowy New Year's morning, I’m looking forward to connecting with friends, family, and colleagues and wishing them a Happy New Year.

Tom

I have come out of my self-imposed retirement from blogging on this site to say a public "thank you" to you for your continued promotion of one idea...

It is an idea you have stayed with even though it is such a hard message to sell... I refer to your robust advocacy of "selling to women"... I am not sure entirely why - but I was not convinced of the need for this "idea" in 2007.... I was a critic.

In 2008 I have it as the center piece for two key elements of my work - in politics and in health care ... I am convinced that excelling at "the art of selling to women" will prove the secret to my continued success with both ventures....

When men are involved in "selling to women" - its the "words" men use or don't use that will most probably determine their success or otherwise....

Women want different things in life to men - they place importance on different things to men - they therefore talk about different things to men - but perhaps most importantly women talk in different ways about everything and in the process they use different words, language, gestures, expressions, etc....

Selling to women is a key part of what I have to do in 2008... I have to sell "political messages" to women who are at different points in their life cycle (thus they have very different needs and aspirations)... I have to design/devise health care messages for women that bring into sharp focus their concerns for fitness, family, individual ailments, and general wellness....

Can I do it Tom? Who knows if I am up to this challenge - what I do know is if I get this right then the success of my work in 2008 years will last more than a decade....

Richard.

This post made me take action.

My Relationship Quotient for the New Year has started on a great note.

I realize that the New Year gave a great context to recognize others contribution to my life. Tom's post made me leverage this context for maximum ROIR.

Thanks Tom!!!

Wishing all a very healthy, happy, joyful & prosperous New Year!!!

Good luck in all your endeavors…

Thought I’d share a brilliant quote by Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam – 11th President of India, to begin this year…”Dream is not what you see when you sleep…It’s the thing which does not let you sleep”

Tried it. Got 1 person, 9 voice mails and gave up. Everybody's fighting fires and showing how "productive" they are by not being available.
