Wednesday Edition
Opportunities to experience the fizz of a Tom Peters live presentation in London are quite rare these days. That's why we wanted to give visitors at tompeters.com a final heads-up for what is the only London public event in Tom's 2008 speaking schedule. It will take place at the QEII Conference Centre on Monday, 28th April, and Tom is sharing the "Look Beyond Change" theme of the day with Kjell Nordström. You might know Nordström from his Cool Friends spot with Jonas Riddersträle; together they wrote Funky Business and Karaoke Capitalism.
The Peters/Nordström combination promises to provide a heady cocktail for what will be a large and lively audience. Event details can be found on benchmarkforbusiness.com, or email us at team@tompeters.co.uk if you have any other questions about the day. We hope you can join us!
Before blogging became all the rage, Tom was posting book reviews and Observations (essentially early blog posts) to this site. You can find the archives below.

In 2006 I had the privilege of seeing Tom 'in action' in London at a major conference to over 500 senior executive types. Tom spoke for 6 hours (4 × 90 minute slots). Absolutely brilliant - amazing energy - still fresh and buzzing after 6 hours. I've never seen the like of that before or since. Good luck in London this year Tom - we need you in the UK more than ever!

A reflection:
Web cast it or Pod cast it at £10 a pop and send the money to a favourite charity?
Having sold my beloved Beetle recently even that didn't cover the cost of seeing Tom live! To be honest its still cheaper to see U2?
A small venue tour at small venue prices, I remember Gensis doing that in the 80's?

Patrick makes a very good point.
I wonder how many UK-based startup entrepreneurs and small business owners will be able to attend this conference – an event which may change their lives – at a cost of £1095 + VAT (+ travel + hotel).
Not too many, I imagine. And, yet, these are the kinds of folks that would benefit the most.
It’s a big money occasion, affordable mainly by the men-in-suits.
Anyway, have a great gig Tom.

In determining whether to take an extended weekend and cross the pond for this session and see a few of the sites (I've been all around, but never to the UK), I read the Cool Friends spot with Nordstrom and Ridderstrale. Great interview!
Peter McCarthy...I appreciate your point. But there are always options, always considerations. I am constantly juggling this or that and not being able to do this or that. Yet, I continue to do exactly what I deem important, positioning myself appropriately.
For others, this positioning will mean other things; valaue is placed otherwise. This is the beauty of options and choices. Funng thing, though, the more I venture out into new territories and consider what the vast world has to offer, the more opportunities I get.

Peter - check out the iTunes audiobook section. There's a few TP items well worth downloading and they're a lot cheaper than the conference.

Patrick... as I practice being my brother's keeper whenever possible, I can probably make up the difference with regards to the kids' shoes.
By the way, how old are they? This will undoubtedly determine the brand and the cost. Best!
Thanks for the iTunes audiobook info, MarkJF.

I got some crazy vision for my company today. I asked Universe to give me a sign for a good choice. And than it comes....Tom Peters in Croatian newspapers, big title''Only woman can lead economy forward''.
This interwiev is due to seminar of Mr. Peters in Zagreb in June.

Judith, you make a fine point.
I guess the counter here is how would you get Tom in front of more people?
For me its Pod, its web, its the use of technology like this, its a price reduction based on volumes?
Its the philanthropy of the approah maybe?
I know there is the brand etc, I know he's still value for money etc, I know these things, so I use the only medium available that afforded to me by IT, this one.
The kids are fine for shoes but as I have three girls all sub 7 the brand will be an issue at some point! as will the number of.
You got the point, it was just the youngest was sat with me as I typed.
Have an enjoyable day...

Fine pictures here, Patrick, on a few fronts. Images are powerful as well as your often succinct cogent beautifully shaped lines. Thank you.

Ina...as a picture is worth a thousand words, that of TP on your link will have to suffice, as I cannot read a word of the article. I'm sure the seminar so described above, if delivered by TP, will be great.
I have not heard him live yet. Hopefully, it will be sooner rather than later. Listening to the recent interview on the Author Blog about presentations, I'm sure his is quite an experience, for both performance and knowledge dispensed.

I shall try to get along to this. Tom was amazing when I saw him a year or so ago.
Keep it Funky Tom!
