Cathy
Tom makes a good point with this slide show - "don't just follow the mob!"
I once asked a billionaire, who made most of his money in real estate, a simple question and got a simple answer. "What was your secret weapon?" I asked him. "I always paid too much!" was his reply. He said he looked at value not price - his best buys were always those most criticized within his industry. He refused to follow the mob!
Tom is saying to us all (through these slides) - don't just follow the mob because that way lies pain, suffering, hardship with no chance at EXCELLENCE!
Rather chart your own course by your ACTIONS, by who YOU HANG WITH, by what YOU READ, and most importantly by relying on your own INTEGRITY.
I will drink to that....
Richard.

Tim, perhaps you need a PPT viewer: Google - PowerPointViewer.exe - for the download link.

I have been a Tom Peters convert about a year and a half ago but have never seen him present in person, all I can say is WOW ...
His passion, energy, anger at the stupidity of some is just infectious ... Day in I am looking at ways to bring humanity and "excellence" into what we do at work ... sadly not everyone shares that, I especially liked the comment about the 2 cent candy at the immigration desk in Singapore ... Amen to that..

Tim,
Your PPT file is on its way.
There are various reasons you might have had difficulty. Mike L. points out one of them above. (Thanks, Mike!) Other possibilities are firewalls on the email system at your office, pop-up blockers on your machine, or server-to-server routing gone bad. Instead of trying to unravel these glitches when they happen, we just email the PPT file directly to anybody who asks. There's a place on our website giving the email address we use for this: slides (at) tompeters.com, and those emails come directly to me.
I hope anyone else who has difficulty is reading this!

I would also love to have a copy of the PowerPoint slides from this presentation. I too had trouble downloading. Thank you.
