WOW! A couple that supports each other in two different career paths, a million books in 11 buildings (and counting) piled in very personal categories, and most important- children's books!
What's not to love? Thank you!

Choked me up...and proud to call them "neighbors" here in Wisconsin.
I've never, EVER turned down my daughter's request to buy a book. Even when money gets tight...I'll skip a meal or two in order to make sure she gets that book.
Yes...its THAT important.
Thanks for the link!!!

Very cool...and the shots of the piles of books could have been shot in my basement. Nice to see that a love of books doesn't come bundled with a love of the dewey decimal system!

I used to have a t-shirt that read, 'So Many Books, So Little Time' They need one that reads, 'So Many Books, So Few Buildings.'
Thanks for sharing; that was great.

"It worked out pretty well for us...." People who love each other that much usually have their own passions as well - he has his farm and she has her zest for reading, learning, and collecting...
I owned and ran an old, rare, and new books store for 3 years - a long time ago... It was my therapy after leaving a high pressured life in public service... It quickly became one of the 'dreamtime' moments in my life...
The best and most intimidating part of it was sourcing and then buying books from people who had hoarded and built-up a wonderful collection over many years. These were always 'special' people! As were the people who came to my store - they were demanding customers who knew what they wanted BUT they were also delightful characters who had more life miles on them than their age explained whether they were young or old. They had extra stories to tell and to share because they simply loved books. Most would tell great stories or anecdotes about the content a book and about this or that author but equally they would tell you, in great detail, about the 'hunt' for a book - the book!
Many has been the time when my day, week, or month had been made-over totally by the sheer joy of a customer in finding 'THE BOOK' in my store!
Thanks for sharing this video with us - we are all the richer for it.... It has brought back such rich and vivid memories for me..
Richard.

It reminds me of the first time I entered the cinema at Hay-on-Wye (an amazing book town if you're in that part of the UK)...the kind of place that gives you a crick in the neck from looking sideways at all the titles...heaven!
I'm moving out to the Midwest from Europe in August so will have to swing by....thanks for the heads-up.

What a beautiful love for books and for each other. They are great role models of partnerships and team work. The respect and deference they have for each other is so wonderful. This is such a loving story. In fact, I don't know any lovers of books who aren't loving. Do you?
Paul Williams...I honor your way of being. Growing up we could not watch a lot of TV, only 30 minutes a day. We didn't have a lot of money, but we ALWAYS had plenty of books. Reading is one of my passions. My king size bed has a total of 15 books on it right now.
Reading makes all the difference.

Thanks for the link Cathy...Yes, Judith - Reading makes all the difference...As the saying goes 'The reading of all good books is like having conversations with the finest men'

Their love story and enthusiasm for reading was heart warming . . . yet, sort of looked like a hoarding obsession to me. I love books and rarely get rid of my own, but maybe a little less of the gathering books and a little more reading them to children or the elderly. Just a thought- please don't take me off mailing list!

Awesome. I think Tom ought to take a trip up there and scout out how many of his books reside on the old farm.

What a wonderful story! I like to think that if I'm a very good girl, when I go to heaven this is what I'll find - all the books with all the time to read them. And I'll live in the castle!
Thanks, Cathy!
