Thanks for the "Major Incident" update
ITIL would tell you that this is what you have it is neither a Glitch or a Problem as you are attempting to restore service as quickly as possible and not looking for root cause or trying to fob me off with a random word like Glitch!
Something must have changed, that must have been planned Glitch sound so....random!
I know lets blame it on that newest of breakfast cereals the Credit Crunch!
