With his penchant for statistics and formulas, Tom would love this article on Wired.com about a way to assess risk in financial securities. It's a great deal of clarification of how we got into the mess we're in. You've, no doubt, already added CDS to your vocabulary. Now, you can be versed in the term CDO as well.
One auto dealership in the Northeast U.S. is expanding while the rest of the auto industry is struggling. To find out one reason that Herb Chambers is thriving, read this blog entry at Enterprise Media.com.
This came to us from the emails to tom at tompeters.com. We leave it for you to decide, is there an idea here you can use? Free booklet (click on the book cover image) at ExtremeCustomerMakeovers.com.
The McKinsey Quarterly has a terrific interview with Jacqueline Novogratz, CEO of Acumen Fund, on women and leadership.
This one's on our media page, but we just love it when someone "gets Tom." See what we mean in the article "What to Do in Recessionary Times" by Anja Merret on AgoraVox.com.

Thank you, Cathy. I really liked the McKinsley interview with Jacqueline Novogratz. I so appreciated the opening points about the international community not uplifting women and devaluing men in these underdeveloped countries or any country for that matter; I appreciated the need for a healthy whole society. This is so very important.
I also appreciated the point here about humility and the difference in men and women and why women do not readily choose finance as a career. There is no doubt that the way in which men and women respond to various things tend to differ be it nature or nurture. There are a lot of good points in this short interview. Thanks again.

This week, I found a link on Business Pundit (www.businesspundit.com) regarding the use of Twitter for business particulalry interesting. If like me you find Twitter taking up far too much time, this could allow you to be more relevant, more efficient and may improve your retweets (and PR?!)

Glad you mentioned Herb Chambers, Cathy. I've been curious about them for years. They're now on my radar.

John, it's not surprising that the people at Enterprise Media discuss great customer service on their blog. They're producers of Tom videos, and all that exposure to him has to rub off. Perhaps, in the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that my office is in a corner of their building. I love going there to work with people around (especially them--they're a great group!), not to mention it gives me a place to store all the paper and books that pile up in my work for Tom.
About Herb Chambers, I heard an interview with him on NPR last week. Good stuff. Maybe you can find it by searching on their website. I'd recommend the interview to everybody, not just John.
