I recall a previous list that was posted based on the book "Charlie Wilson's war that addressed this issue. You pointed out that to often relationship building does not extend past ones own team. One can maximize the the value R.O.I.R. by working relationships a level or two down in the organization, a level or two up, and perhaps most importantly, to every department or back shop your team "does business" with. I perfected and practiced just that during my days in the Air Force and continue it to this day. Simple stuff works!
