dispatches from the new world of work

Goodbye Cathy

After over a decade of dedication to Excellence, Cathy Mosca will be departing at the end of June. Her time with Tom has been devoted (and I don't use that word lightly) to ensuring that tompeters.com as well as all the books, slides, and documents that Tom has written are of the highest quality, and she has rarely missed the mark. As the primary contact behind the tom@tompeters.com email address, Cathy has gone over and above for anyone needing help, especially if it's finding an obscure quote (some say she knows Tom's books better than he does). To say that she will be missed is a gross understatement. We invite you to take a moment and wish her well in the comments.

Shelley Dolley posted this on 06/15/10.

Comments

To say that my appreciation for Cathy’s contribution to this Blog is wide and deep and heartfelt and professionally felt is understatement. To a large extent tompeters.com is Cathy. Not only has she assured the quality of what appears here (catching me out time and time again), but she has been the major domo/glue/spirit of the community that has developed here. There is no request, no matter how apparently other-than-earthshaking, that has not merited her close attention and personal concern. There are no contentious situations that she has failed to address with extreme thoughtfulness. There are 100 “trivial” activities that undergird a rather complex Blog that she has invisibly handled with dispatch and aplomb. We shall continue to attempt to provide significant value at tompeters.com, but, no, things will not be the same.

Thank you, all. I am bowled over by these messages. Some of you I expected to say bye, others are a complete surprise! I can't find words, don't want to water down my deep appreciation by trying and getting them wrong. Goodbye, it's been a great pleasure.

Ah, Cathy, reading the words of the post title alone evoked sadness. I couldn't respond right away. Instead, I reflected. I will miss you. I have so appreciated your kindness and the Excellence with which you responded to emails. But in the words of Yeats in his poem Parting, "that song announces dawn." May your dawns be forever bright and purposeful and may you be forever blessed. I wish you all the very best.

An old friend of mine was oft quoted as saying "patrick that is just wrong"

For me this news is that "just wrong" Cathy whilst I am obviously delighted for you and the changes you have chosen to make, enjoy them fully, I am sad that a friend of the blog and feedback process and simply lovely person is off to places new.

Every transaction we have had has been a delight, I am sure yuo will continue to delight
